Ignition Lock Cylinder

Removal and Installation

NOTE: For non-functional ignition lock cylinders, the steering column lock module has to be replaced. For additional information, refer to Section 211-05 .

  1. Remove the steering column opening trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-12 .
  1. Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.
  1. Turn the key to the ACC position.
  1. Insert a small punch into the hole and remove the ignition lock cylinder.
  1. If a new lock cylinder with keys is replaced, the new Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) keys must be programmed. For additional information, refer to Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT) Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in Section 419-01B .
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
