Ignition Coil-On-Plug

Removal and Installation

LH side

  1. Disconnect the PCV tube-to-valve cover fitting quick connect coupling and position aside. For additional information, refer to Section 310-00 .

RH side

  1. For ignition coil-on-plugs on cylinders 3 and 4, disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01 .
  1. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube-to-valve cover fitting quick connect coupling and position aside. For additional information, refer to Section 310-00 .

Both sides

  1. Remove the ignition coil-on-plug cover.
  1. NOTE: Detach the engine appearance cover and lift to gain access to the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.

    Disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connector.
  1. NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plug, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

    Remove the bolt and the ignition coil-on-plug.
  1. Inspect the coil seals for rips, nicks or tears. Remove and discard any damaged coil seals.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
