Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

All vehicles

  1. Remove the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to Section 204-04 .

Vehicles with 2 piston calipers

  1. NOTICE: Do not allow the brake caliper, brake pads and anchor plate assembly to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose may occur.

    Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. Relocate and support the component.

Vehicles with 4 or 6 piston calipers

  1. NOTICE: Do not allow the brake caliper assembly to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose may occur.

    Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. Relocate and support the component.

All vehicles

Installation

  1. NOTICE: Do not use an abrasive sanding disc since it will remove paint or other protective finishes from the wheel or metal from the mounting surfaces, adversely affecting corrosion protection and brake disc lateral runout.

    Wire brush. Clean the specified component with the specified material. Apply the specified chemical with a brush.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
