Removal and Installation

All vehicles

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02 .
  1. Recover the refrigerant. For additional information, refer to Section 412-00 .
  1. Remove the 8 upper radiator air deflector pin-type retainers and remove the air deflector.

3.7L and 5.0L (4V) vehicles

  1. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) housing and ACL inlet pipe. For additional information, refer to Section 303-12 .

5.8L (4V) vehicles

  1. Remove the 2 degas bottle bolts and position the degas bottle aside.

All vehicles

  1. Remove the 4 upper radiator bracket bolts and the 2 upper radiator brackets.
  1. Remove the condenser inlet fitting nut and disconnect the fitting.
  1. NOTE: The radiator must be positioned rearward to access the 2 upper condenser bolts.

    Remove the 2 upper condenser bolts.
  1. Remove the 9 lower radiator air deflector screws and the lower radiator air deflector.
  1. Remove the condenser outlet fitting nut and disconnect the fitting.
  1. Remove the 2 lower condenser nuts.
  1. NOTE: The condenser core must be removed from below the vehicle.

    Remove the condenser core.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to Section 412-00 .
