Evaporator Outlet Line

Removal and Installation

All vehicles

  1. Recover the refrigerant. For additional information, refer to Section 412-00 .
  1. If equipped, remove the 4 nuts and the strut tower cross brace.

5.8L (4V) vehicles

  1. Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Section 303-03A .
  1. Disconnect the 2 heater hose connections at the rear of the RH cylinder head and position the heater hoses aside.
  1. Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system module tube. For additional information, refer to Section 303-08 .

3.7L vehicles

  1. Remove the battery tray. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01 .

5.0L (4V) vehicles

  1. Disconnect the positive and negative battery cables at the battery. For aditional information, refer to Section 414-01 .
  1. Remove the engine appearance cover.

All vehicles

  1. Remove the evaporator outlet line fitting nut and disconnect the fitting.
  1. Remove the evaporator outlet line bracket bolt.
  1. Remove the Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) fitting nut and disconnect the fitting.
  1. Remove the evaporator outlet line.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

5.8L (4V) vehicles

  1. Fill the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Section 303-03A .

All vehicles

  1. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to Section 412-00 .
