REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Generator — 5.8L (4V)

Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to Section 100-02 .
  1. Disconnect the battery. Refer to Section 414-01 .
  1. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) assembly. Refer to Section 303-12 .
  1. Rotate the FEAD belt tensioner clockwise and position the FEAD belt aside.

  1. NOTE: The 2 upper generator bolts are removed with the generator.

    Completely loosen the 2 upper generator bolts.
  1. Remove the 3 bolts and lower the underbody shield.
  1. Disconnect the generator electrical connectors and remove the lower generator bolt.
    1. To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
    1. To install, tighten to 17 Nm (150 lb-in).
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
