REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM)

NOTE: The glove compartment door is shown removed for clarity.

3 — APIM electrical connector (part of 14401)
4 — Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable (part of 14401)

Removal and Installation

  1. NOTE: It is necessary to record the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) software and hardware level when a new APIM is being installed to make sure that the new component is the same version as the component being replaced.

    Retrieve and record the current APIM software level. For additional information, refer to Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) Software Level Check in this section.
  1. Lower the glove compartment completely.
  1. Remove the 4 screws and the APIM .
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
