Camshaft Roller Follower

Removal and Installation

NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.

NOTE: If the components are to be reinstalled, they must be installed in their original locations. Mark the components for installation into their original locations.

  1. Remove the camshaft for the camshaft roller follower being serviced. For additional information, refer to Camshaft — RH and/or Camshaft — LH in this section.
  1. Remove the camshaft roller follower and hydraulic lash adjuster as an assembly.
  1. Separate the hydraulic lash adjuster from the spring clip on the camshaft roller follower.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
