Removal

All vehicles

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
  1. Remove the 9 bolts and the lower splash shield.
  1. Remove the 2 A/C condenser-to-radiator nuts.
  1. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. Refer to Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud — 3.7L and 5.0L or Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud — 5.8L (4V) .
  1. Remove the 8 pushpins and the radiator air deflector.

Vehicles equipped with a 3.7L or 5.0L engine

  1. Release the clamp and disconnect the radiator-to-degas bottle hose from the radiator.

All vehicles

  1. Release the clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.
  1. Release the clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
  1. Remove the 4 bolts and the 2 radiator support brackets.
  1. Lift the radiator off the lower radiator support and position the radiator, the A/C condenser and if equipped the transmission fluid cooler assembly toward the engine.

Vehicles equipped with a 3.7L or 5.0L engine

  1. Remove the 2 A/C condenser-to-radiator bolts and position the A/C condenser aside.
  1. If equipped, remove the 2 transmission fluid cooler bolts and position the transmission fluid cooler aside.

Vehicles equipped with a 5.8L engine

  1. Remove the 2 transmission fluid cooler nuts and position the transmission fluid cooler aside.
  1. Remove the 2 A/C condenser-to-radiator stud bolts and position the A/C condenser aside.

All vehicles

  1. Remove the radiator.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
